Seils, Eddy J.
Stoughton- Eddy J. Seils, age 74, passed away after a courageous 2 � year battle with cancer. He was born in Madison on March 4, 1937, a son of Clarence and Laura (Gasser) Seils. He served his country in the Air National Guard. In 1959, he was united in marriage to Nancy Hoveland in McFarland. Eddy attended UW Whitewater and the Wisconsin School of Electronics. He worked at Nelson Industries for 36 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed sports, especially the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. Eddy was a member of First Lutheran church. He loved the outdoors and loved to work in his yard and garden in the summer. Eddy was always involved in youth sports, was a member of the 'S' club, coached Little League and refereed youth and high school football for many years. In later years, he enjoyed sharing jokes through email, and won an internet sweepstakes in 2005 to take his entire extended family and grandchildren to Disney World. Eddy was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Deena (Randall) Ferguson and David (Diane) Seils; 4 grandchildren, Max and Sam Ferguson, and Ashley and Tyler Seils; and a sister-in-law, Cathy Seils. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jan Seils.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at noon at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St. Stoughton, with the Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South. The family will greet friends at church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
