Edna M. Zingg

February 27, 1909 — November 21, 2010

Edna M. Zingg, age 101 3/4, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Oak Park Place in Madison.  She was born February 27, 1909, in Wautoma, the daughter of Max and Emma (Bohn) Weiland.  She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.  On July 4, 1933, Edna was united in marriage with Walter Zingg.  Edna and her late husband spent many years farming in the Town of Windsor.  Edna loved traveling, spending winters in Arizona, and cooking.  She enjoyed music and loved telling stories about her life. She was in good health, had sharp wit, lived independently, and loved spending time with her family. Edna is survived by her four daughters: Donna Jeanne Anthon and Darlene (Dorlen) Hammon both of Pardeeville (the twins), Betty Lou Zingg-Hansen of Lake Delton, and Shirley (Tony) Zingg Zanotti of Tucson, AZ; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Milo Weiland; two sisters: Linda Kenison and Dorothy (Cos) Hoffman, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Walter (2003), daughter Sylvia Rortvedt (2003), her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and two great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 24 at PEACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 232 Windsor Street in Sun Prairie where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.  Reverend Luke Were will preside.  Following the service, burial will proceed in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church or School.
