Edward Goralski

October 27, 1943 — July 24, 2021

Edward William Goralski passed away on July 24,2021, surrounded by family at the University of Wisconsin hospital in Madison, WI.

He was born on October 27, 1943, to Edward John Goralski and Lorraine Emily Goralski, née Kraisinger.  He grew up in Cicero and Berwyn, IL, and attended Morton High School and Morton Junior college.  On May 16, 1964, he married Janet Mae Hulka. They had three sons: Edward, Jr. (Teri), Jeffrey (Monica) and Todd (Gina) and eight grandchildren: Conner, Zoey, Hana, Naomi, Michael, Emma, Jake and Jamie.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law James (Sally) Hulka and sister-in-law Thelma Hulka.  He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lorraine Goralski, his brother Richard and his brother-in-law John Hulka.

Ed worked for the Catholic Cemeteries Archdiocese of Chicago for 40 years retiring in 2007 as Director of Operations. His job meant so much to him. Ed and Jan lived in Elmhurst, IL, for 40 years where he coached baseball and football for many years for his son’s teams giving him more quality time with them.  He and his family went on many eventful camping trips throughout the United States and Canada and he worked tirelessly to keep everything organized and on track. Ed and Jan also traveled together alone, with family and dear friends throughout their life together.  He loved his dogs and volunteered at Eyes of Hope Shelter for several years.

In 1988 Ed and Jan had a shell of a lake house built and spent many hours finishing much of the house themselves. It was Ed’s pride and joy.  Many hours were spent swimming and on the pontoon fishing, playing games and having Grampa’s boat grilled hot dogs for lunch.

Ed was very mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything from a car engine to a tiny broken earring. He spent many hours tinkering. He will be remembered for his work ethic, sense of humor and love of family.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorials may be made in Ed’s name to the International Crane Foundation or the Adams County Humane Society.
