Edward Schneider Jr

Edward Schneider Jr. ""Ed"" died peacefully and went to be with the Lord early on Jan. 19th.   Ed was born on Dec. 31, 1932, the son of Edward and Laura (Mautzdorf) Schneider in Sheboygan.   He worked for the state as a data processor until his retirement.   Ed enjoyed competing in the State and National Senior Olympics during retirement.   He played both basketball and ping-pong at the state level, and basketball at the national level.   Ed was an active and long time member of Grace Lutheran Church.   Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Joyce, daughter Holly, sisters; Vivian Robnolt and Shirley Karklins, brother Ken (Geri) Schneider, sister in law; Lorraine Schneider, ""Hillbilly Mom"" Ettamene Schneider, nieces and nephews, his adopted family; the Richardsons, and his ""ping-pong"" pals.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1 S. Rosa Rd., Madison.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, or the Madison Senior Center.   The family is especially grateful to the nursing staff of St. Mary's Cardiac Care Unit East.   Their loving and compassionate support of Ed, his wife and daughter thru his stay in the Comfort Care Program was deeply appreciated.
