Elaine Anderson

M. Elaine Anderson, age 82, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg.   A lifelong resident of Stoughton, she was born in Madison on March 19, 1928, the daughter of Franklin and Mildred (Owens) Showers.   She graduated from Stoughton High School.   Elaine was united in marriage to Clifford Anderson on June 27, 1948.   Elaine worked in Fort Atkinson for Thomas Industries, retiring after 18 years.   She is remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved being around her kids.   Elaine also enjoyed playing cards and bowling.   She is survived by 4 children, Philip (Pat) Anderson, Nancy (David) Julseth, David Anderson, and Joan (Larry) Campbell; 20 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Dennis Anderson; and a brother, Franklin Showers.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at noon at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating.   Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   A reception at the Stoughton VFW Hall will follow services at the cemetery.   Special thanks to the staff of Care Wisconsin, Stoughton Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and HospiceCare.
