Eleanor Nordness

Fitchburg-Eleanor Nordness, age 83, died unexpectedly on June 22, 2011 due to a head trauma after a fall on Saturday June 18th.
She was born December 25th 1927 to Pasquale and Edna DelMastro in Belmont, MA. She married Bob Nordness in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1991 after 40 years of marriage. She was truly blessed to meet Art Anderson, who again gave her another wonderful 10 years of joy. Art preceded her in death in 2007.
Eleanor worked for 29 years for the Madison Public Schools at both Cherokee Middle School and Madison West High School.
Bob and Eleanor's marriage produced two children; Judy Molenkamp--Madison and Todd Nordness--San Diego CA. She also had very special nephew and niece Keith (Jo Anne) Robinson and Karen (Wayman) Wickline. She had 3 grandchildren Scott, Corey, and Stephanie. Stephanie preceded her in death in 2007. Eleanor was also honored to have 3 great grandchildren, Quin Dunahee Ava Norsman, 2 years old and Sophia Norsman 2 months old. She was also very close to Art Anderson's family, Susan and Don Holic, daughter Kelsey (Thomas) Hand and their son Ben Holic.
Eleanor was very involved in her children's lives as they were growing up. She taught Sunday school and was a brownie/girl scout leader. After her retirement she remained very active, volunteering at Meriter Hospital. She loved the people she worked with! She also volunteered at her church Bethany Methodist with the ""Banner Group"", as they called themselves. She always said what fun they had! She also had her monthly bridge club. Every Monday and Friday morning you could find her at the YMCA exercising. She always said, ""if I died tomorrow, I have been blessed with the best life anyone could have!""
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ty Lacey Hines. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service.
