Eleanor L. Rose

COTAGE GROVE- Eleanor L. Rose, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Cottage Grove. Eleanor was born in Halfway, Maryland on February 14, 1916, the tenth child of the late William and Mary (Carlyle) Wolford. Eleanor married her true love, the late Wilmont B. Rose on August 9, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland. In September of 1946, Eleanor and her husband and two children moved to Columbus, WI. Eleanor was primarily a stay at home wife and mother who loved to cook, watch her favorite TV programs and working in her flower gardens. Eleanor also made beautiful hand crafted Christmas tree ornaments. After her husband Wilmont passed away in 1974, Eleanor moved to Cottage Grove to be closer to her daughter and family.

Survivors include; son Philip (Arlyn) Rose of Presque Isle, WI. and daughter Ellen (Henry) Forbes of Cottage Grove, WI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eleanor was also preceded in death by all of her siblings, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, a son-in-law and one grandchild.

A celebration of Eleanor's life will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at 12 noon at the Cress Funeral Home in McFarland with Robert Meixner officiating. A private burial will take place in the Okeeg Cemetery in Dodge Co. Friends of the family may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Eleanor had some special care givers, especially her family, whom she lived with for the last 37 yrs. Eleanor was able to live her last days with unconditional love and support from her daughter and grandchildren; Todd (Lois) Wolf, Tina Wolf and Tammy (Tim) Pysher. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Therese; the home Hospice staff, who gave Eleanor such loving care; Nicki, Marcy and Chaplain Timothy.
