Eleanore Damman

Madison - Eleanore L. "Ellie" Damman, age 96, passed away quietly at her home, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011.
Ellie was born Sept. 28, 1914, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Clara (Mabis) Berken. Ellie was united in marriage with Oscar C. Damman on April 24, 1932. Oscar's career was with the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department. Ellie was a loyal and lifelong Badgers fan. The original seats No.1 and No.2 from Old Camp Randall occupy a special place in Ellie's "Badger Room". There are Badger fans, and then there is Ellie!
She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Robert) Elliot of Hartwell, Georgia, Marcia Johnson of Boston, Mass., Michael Damman and Marc Damman of Madison; grandchildren, Chandler (Melissa) Johnson, Rebecca (Michael) Carazza, Tom Elliot and Randolph (Pam) Elliot; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Anna, Mary, Aidan, Quentin and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oscar, in 2000, and her sister.
Private services for Ellie will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church Chapel and Forest Hill Mausoleum.
Memorials in Eleanor's name may be gifted to Bethel Lutheran Church - Television Ministry, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, WI 53703
