Elisabeth M. ""Liesel"" Hansen, age 86 passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at UW-Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Schwetzingen, Germany on November 16, 1923 the daughter of the late Johan and Maria (Kammerer) Lehr. On March 3, 1945, Elisabeth was united in marriage to Ewald H. Hansen. She was born and raised in Germany. She loved flowers, golf, knitting, and bingo. Â She was a ruthless card player, and enjoyed many games with family and friends. Elisabeth was a long-time member of the German Club of Madison.Â
Elisabeth is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ewald; one son, Hermann (Barbara) of Monroe; three grandsons, Chris of Arizona, Jon (Brandy) and Jamie (Amanda) both of Spokane, WA; five great-grandchildren, Journey and Jon Jr., and Conner, Lincoln, and Annaka all of Spokane, WA; four siblings, Hugo, Annemarie, Trudel, and Gerhard all of Germany; and one sister-in-law, Inge (Ludwig) Neuhaus of Madison.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Karl.Â
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak Street, Prairie du Sac.Â
