Elizabeth Emily Baun

Madison:   Elizabeth Emily Baun, age 97, passed away peacefully at Sebring Assisted Health Care, on Wednesday, September 3, 2008.   She was born in Cuba City, WI, on March 5, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (McCarthy) O'Neil.   Elizabeth graduated from Cuba City High School, and received a Bachelors Degree in History from Clark College in 1939.   Elizabeth was united in marriage to Raymond Francis Baun on Feb. 22, 1955.   The couple lived in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Syracuse, New York, and New Orleans before moving to Madison where Elizabeth was a social worker at the then Madison General Hospital.  She enjoyed classical music, and was a supporter of the Madison Symphony Orchestra.   Elizabeth is survived by brother-in-law Norbert (Jane) Baun, sister-in-law, Elizabeth ""Betty"" Baun, nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, sister, Jane, and a brother, Edward.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 8, 2008 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, WI, with a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service.   In lieu of flowers and family suggests that memorials may be made to Apostolate to the Handicapped, 515 22nd Ave., Monroe, WI   53566.
