Westport/Waunakee – Elizabeth A "Betty" Reible, age 91, of Westport passed away at her home with family on October 29, 2024.
She was born April 7, 1933 in Cross Plains, Wis. to Theodore and Susan (Faust) Nonn. Betty married the love of her life Harold Reible on April 7, 1953. Together they raised their 8 children in the Catholic faith. She enjoyed babysitting, County Music festivals, spending time at the cabin in Mercer, performances at The Fireside in Fort Atkinson, traveling and time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty’s true passion was cooking for others. She cooked for many years at the Waunakee American Legion Post 360 for funeral, weddings and anniversaries; funeral luncheons for members of St Mary’s of the Lake and St John’s Baptist Church. She helped with the food for the Winter Wanderers Snowmobile Club Beef Feed and many other location celebrations. Everyone seems to have fond memories of Betty’s cooking in the kitchen from potato salad, coleslaw, caramel cinnamon rolls, salads, meat balls, dog turds and her numerous desserts.
She is survived by her children, Anita (Ron) Lauber of Portage, Francis (Rita) of Lodi, Allan of Waunakee, David (Diane) of Mazomanie, Edward (Lorilea) of Avalon, Neal (Teri) of Waunakee, LuAnn (Munya) Meinholz-Chasi of Edgerton; grandchildren, Trevor (Theresa) and Troy (Steph) Lauber; Emily (Eric) Townley, Eric (Lauren) Reible, Jill (Garrett) Bloom; Bill Reible, Jeannie (Josh) Sterns, Jessica Reible; Kevin and Adam (Amy) Reible, Ashley Nee, Ben Acker; Rose (Jackson) Pierce and Lukas Reible; Elizabeth (Michael) Nielsen, Jake (Jen) Reible: great grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter Lauber; Dylan, Chase, Devin, Cooper Lauber; Bryce, Jack, Lila Townley; Benson, Graham, Elle Reible; Leo, Henry, Olivia, Clara Bloom; Peyton, Brett Reible, Eli Truettner, Andrew Waters, Caden Waters, Ryker Sterns; Autumn, Elaina Reible,
Austin, Aiden Reible; Arwen, Peter Pierce; Claire, Eloise Nielson, Easton, Aubree, River Reible; Munya Jr, Mia, Justice Chasi, Great Great Grandchild Kai Waters. Extended family member, Samantha (Matt) Creviere; Kayden & Klohe Creviere. She is further survived by her Foreign Exchange program children, Stefan (Claudina) Wernli of Florida and their son Stefan Jr., Ana Beatriz "Tiz" (Joe) Rodrigues, and Adriana Jorge of Brazil, Ana Graciela Mesen Esser of Venezuela.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Earl (Sadie) Reible, sister in laws: Doris (Gerald) Boehnen, Alice Schmitz, Grace Keenan, Bonnie Reible. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, son, Charles; daughter in-law Becky (Peterson) Reible; granddaughter, Dawn Lauber; great grandson Cassidy Truettner, She was also preceded in death by family members: Bernadette (Roman) Boehnen, Rosena (Frank) Zander, Evelyn (Werner) Theis, Lorraine (Wienand) Brabender, Romald (Lily) Nonn, Alfred (Rita) Nonn and Jerome (Rosaline) Nonn, Luella (Robert) Blumenstein, Norman "Barnie"(Betty) Reible, Donald (Dolly) Reible, Darlene (Tim) Schroeder, Shirley Krause, LaVern “Buster” Reible, Jim Keenan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. Nov 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church 5460 Mary Lake Rd in Westport. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home 5785 Hwy Q Waunakee on Monday Nov. 4, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Betty’s love for her family and friends was massive and never stopped growing. While we can no longer hold her in our arms, she is forever in our hearts. We love you very much.
