Elizabeth Docter

d. September 19, 2015

WAUNAKEE-Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Docter died on Sept. 19, 2015, at Brookdale Middleton Memory Care. Betsy was born in Kaukauna and was the fifth and last survivor of the Lestor Brenzel family. She was the valedictorian of the KHS Class of 1953 and received an academic scholarship to study pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin. Betsy graduated with a degree in pharmacy in 1957, the same day of her marriage to Tom Docter, her surviving spouse. Tom and Betsy never left the Madison area.

The loves of Betsy's life, not necessarily in order, were her husband Tom and family of five children, Anne Docter, Joe (Gretchen) Docter, Mary Docter, John (Lori) Docter, and Sarah (Cris) Docter-Williams; five grandchildren; many biking, tennis, golf, bridge, and work friends; her lifetime career as a fill-in pharmacist; being a homemaker; being a world-class competitive sleeper; playing the church organ starting at twelve years of age; winters in Florida; and her athletic trainer of 61 years.

There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church, 5959 St Martin Circle, Martinsville. Rev. Tait Schroeder will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of services. Following the services, a gathering of friends will be held in the church hall. Betsy will be ten minutes late.

Any donations in memory of Betsy should be made to the Brookdale Middleton Memory Care employees' fund, her more than loving caregivers for the last 18 months.
