Elizabeth Krug

Madison-Elizabeth ""Liz"" Krug, of Madison, died Wednesday, at HospiceCare Inc.. She was born in Evanston, IL, on Jan. 7, 1938, the daughter of Edward August and Annie McDonald Krug.   Liz spent her early years in California and Montana, before the family moved to Madison. She graduated from West High School in 1956, where she served as editor-in-chief of The West High Times, and attended the UW before transferring to Marquette University from which she graduated in 1964. She went on to hold an administrative position in the McArdle Institute for Cancer Research at the UW. In 1969 Liz obtained a master's degree in Library Science from the UW and went to work at The New York Public Library until 1979, when she returned to Madison. She held administrative positions at the UW in the colleges of Engineering and Letters and Science (the Center for Limnology), and in the State Cartographer's Office.   In retirement Liz enjoyed church activities at St. Dunstan's and St. Andrew's Episcopal Churches, Midvale Lutheran Church and the Resurrection Chapel at Oakwood Lutheran Homes. She also was active in the Allied Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association. Liz loved animals both wild and domestic, especially her cats.   Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Peggy (Wallace) of Madison and their children, Beth of Denver, CO and Frank ( Lynn) of St. Paul, MN and their two children, Anne and Peter. She is also survived by a brother, Peter (Linda) of Norman, OK and Madison and their two children Sena of Seattle, WA and Erica of Madison.   A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent St on Monday, December 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Andy Jones officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. ( 5395 E.
