Madison-Elizabeth C. Madigan age 96, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Meriter Hospital. She was born in Madison, WI August 2, 1914, the daughter of Stephen A. and Mary E. (Hobbs) Madigan. Elizabeth attended St. Raphael's Elementary and graduated from Edgewood High School. She worked at Wisconsin Power and Light (Alliant Energy) and upon her retirement, she worked at the Kilowatt Credit Union. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and was especially successful with her African Violets. She was a devoted Catholic and recited the rosary every day. Elizabeth was also very supportive of young men entering the priesthood. She is survived by seven nieces, Kathy Madigan, Mary Jo Kopecky, Elizabeth Conklin, Kathryn Axe, Cindy Foote, Mary Elizabeth (Fred) Dellva, and Denise Madigan; three nephews, Mike (Nancy) Madigan, Tim (Janice) Madigan, and Tom Madigan; three grand nieces, Jenifer (Jamie) Faust, Heather (Darrell) Miller, and Mary Anne Dellva; one grand nephew, Peter (Denise) Dellva; four great grand nephews, Aaron Miller, Alex, Henry, Will Dellva. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Axe and Donna Kopecky; four brothers, Stephen, Robert, Donald and David Madigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Capitol Lakes in the Grand Hall, 333 W. Main Street, Madison, with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service. A private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
