Elizabeth Miller

WAUNAKEE-Betty Miller, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 24, 2017. She was born November 15, 1927, to Anton and Elizabeth (Meier) Speth. She attended St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Waunakee High School in 1946. She married Lester J. Miller October 25, 1949, at St. John's Catholic Church and was a member since. She worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. in Waunakee and part-time for the Waunakee Canning Co. prior to, working 22 years for Waunakee Public Schools in Food Service, retiring in 1990. After retiring, her "Food Service" talents treated her family to many delicious treats. When you came for a visit, you never left without some homemade cinnamon rolls, cookies, or pie. She enjoyed bowling, travelling, and especially spending time with her the grandkids along with going to their many school activities.

Surviving her are beloved husband, Lester; their children, Judy, Dan (Diane), Tom, Mike (Jenny), Steve (Janet) and Ron (Tammy); her sister, Irene Hardy; brother, Joe (Anne) Speth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordy and Nancy Miller, Herb and Dorothy Miller, Arlene Mack and Gladys Mulhern; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her in-laws, Herb Sr. and Dora (Goetzinger) Miller, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Leona Virnig and Evelyn Kelter; brothers, Donald, Roman and Jerome; brothers and sisters in-law, Jim Virnig, Werner Kelter, Clarence Hardy, Paul Miller, Ellen Miller, Tom and Doris Whittaker, Don and Mary Hamill, Bill Mack, Bill Mulhern; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South Street, Waunakee. Msgr. James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
