Elizabeth Rose

Madison - Elizabeth "Betsy" Rose, age 61, passed away at University Hospital on Wednesday, December, 25, 2013.

Betsy was born on October 14, 1952 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Ardyce (Wagner) and Wayne Reams. As an Air Force family they moved around extensively, finally returning and settling in Madison in the late 60's. She graduated from East High School and obtained a Nursing Degree at MATC. Betsy was a very compassionate woman showing genuine interest in the lives of everyone she encountered. Betsy married William Rose in 1974.

She enjoyed spending time with family, sewing and gardening. She loved exploring the world and navigating the city of Madison. Betsy's curiosity and outgoing nature brought her into the lives of a wide variety of people. She will be remembered for her vibrant and lively personality.

Betsy is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Rose; children: Anita (Aaron) Sundstrom, Patricia (Sam) Schoenfelder, Janet (Omar) Osorio Rose and Joseph Rose; grandchildren, Vince & Rachel Sundstrom, Sam, Joe, John & Luke Schoenfelder, and Buddy Osorio Rose; sisters and brothers, Linda (Bill) Keys, Teresa (Joe) Reams Howard, William (Tracey) Reams, John (Valorie) Reams, Patricia (Ron) Schlappy, Daniel (Kristie) Reams and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED SACRAMENT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2115 Rowley Ave., Madison, on Monday, December 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. DePorres Durham presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, on Sunday, December 29, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass. Donations may be made in Elizabeth's honor to St. Vincent De Paul.
