Elizabeth Skinner passed away on Fri. Oct. 19, 2012. Elizabeth was born on Jan. 11, 1925 to Ernest and Mary McGown, the youngest of 5 children; brothers, John (Kathleen), Robert (Rosemary) and sisters, Margaret (Ray) Wilcox and Eleanor (Norman) Gunlock.
Elizabeth attended St. Raphael's Grade School and East High School. Upon graduation she moved to Milwaukee to work for AO Smith during WWII casting munitions. She was very proud of her contribution to the war effort. Elizabeth was fondly called "Tillie the Toiler." At the end of the war she met returning serviceman Ray Earl Skinner and they married in 1947. Their marriage was blessed with 4 sons, Steve (Luann), Brian, William and Robert.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Steve (Luann), Brian and William; grandchildren, Joshua (Stephanie), Sandi (Lucas) and Jessica (Jason); great-grandchildren, Emily, Carter, Lilah, and Riley and many nieces' nephews' relatives and friends.
There will be a Prayer Service on Wed. Oct. 24, 2012 at 11:00 a. m. at RESURRECTION CATHOLIC CEMETERY CHAPEL, 2705 Regent St. with Msgr Kevin Holmes presiding.
Mom, grandma we love you and we're going to miss you.
