Elizabeth E. Wipperfurth

Elizabeth E. (Kurt) Wipperfurth, age 94, of Dane died on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. She was born on August 19, 1915 to William and Elizabeth (Hauser) Kurt in Dane. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1936. Elizabeth married Mike Wipperfurth at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Dane on November 24, 1936. They farmed all of their married life, moving into Dane in 1974 where Elizabeth was employed at Good Samaritan Home as a Registered Nurse and worked for 12 years before retiring to play cards, tend to her flowers and enjoy her family.

Survivors include five children, Ruth Ann (Linus) Maier of Waunakee, Mary Ripp (Don Squire) of Stoughton, Janet Kitsemble of Pine Bluff, Bonnie (Bill) Schmidt of Madison, and Bill (Diane) Wipperfurth of Dane; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mollie Ryan and Marcie Benesh; one sister-in-law, Martha Becker; and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed and Marie Ripp, Florence and Ray Meffert, Allie and Antoinette Wipperfurth, Herbert Becker, Lawrence Ryan, and Paul Benesh.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South Street in Waunakee. Monsignor James Gunn will officiate.Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Dane at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

A memorial will established by the family at a later date.
