Ellen Jacobson

Stoughton- Ellen M. Jacobson, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Stoughton Hospital. She was born in Stoughton on January 18, 1925, the daughter of Jorgen and Anna (Nelson) Nygaard. Ellen graduated from Stoughton High School in 1944. On July 21, 1946 she married Palmer Jacobson, together they celebrated 70 years of marriage. Ellen was an active member of First Lutheran Church and Altar Guild. She was a dedicated member of the Stoughton Lioness and Stoughton Country Club. Ellen was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing on the Women's league at Coachman's. Together with her husband, they enjoyed travelling to Norway, Hawaii and Alaska. Family was very important to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Ellen is survived by her husband, Palmer; two daughters, Renee Jacobson and Sharon Palumbo, both of Stoughton; four grandchildren, Alexa and Jake Deutsch, and Jourdan (fiance, Gaelan Fraboni) and Michaela Palumbo; many relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, 310 Washington Street, Stoughton. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, in the church fellowship hall, immediately following the services. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park Saturday afternoon. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday at church. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church General Fund.
