Eric Grimm

MADISON/MCFARLAND- Eric Lee, beloved son of Kenneth and Maryln (Johnson) Grimm was born on June 16, 1953 in Madison and passed away November 22, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare.

He attended West High School and graduated cum laude in 1976 from UW-Eau Claire with an accounting major. Post achieving his CPA, he worked for Dane County Social Services, AmTelCo, and as an independent auditor. "Hating" working with numbers, he pursued other work that followed his interests, including time with TWA Airlines.

Eric loved pets. He went from having a cat, miniature Dachshund, turtles, and fish in childhood to having had a Dalmatian and 3 Golden Retrievers to, present time, when Eric had a Yorkie from the Dane County Humane Society. He also has owned a desert tortoise named Toby. The very favorite dog was Sanna, a very blonde Golden Retriever whose cremains will be buried with Eric.

Other interests of Eric included his cottage and yardwork, flowers, antiques, stained glass and rock collecting as he camped with dog or/and friends in the Tetons, California, and the shores of Lake Superior.

Specific cars were also an avid interest of Eric's-- to collect, tinker with, find parts for, etc. To let go of them was difficult. He was very informed as to how each car was unique in its own way.

Eric was preceded in death by his dad, grandparents, one uncle Willis Grimm of Sun City, AZ, and two aunts Eleanor Gifford of Decatur, IL and Dorothy Johnson of Wiota/Monroe. He is survived by his mom, brother Tom (Denise) of Driggs, Idaho, aunt Emogene Johnson of Columbus, WI, and six cousins and their families. He will be missed by all. Eric was quite a gentle man with a unique sense of humor.

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Midvale Community Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Blvd, Madison, WI 53711 with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM . Lunch at the church will follow services. Burial will be later at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials are always welcome and can be made in honor of Eric to the charity of your choice.
