Estelle Marie Papia

PAPIA, ESTELLE M. (KRAEMER)  
Estelle M.  Papia, age 98, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center .  She graduated from Campbellsport High School at the age of 16.  She  later entered St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee , receiving her diploma in 1932 and pursued her career in nursing.  Estelle was a 1 st Lieutenant in the US Army Nurse Corps during WW II and after her discharge, she continued her career as an industrial nurse with Johnson Controls until her retirement in 1976.  She has since enjoyed many years traveling and volunteering her services to others.  She was an avid Brewers fan and enjoyed playing card games.  Estelle was a role model to all who knew her.
Survivors include her only child Marge (Greg) Larson of Middleton; 3 grandchildren: Matt of Madison, Sarah of Lyndon Station and Andy ( Laurie Baker) Larson of Milwaukee and 1 great grandson Max, as well as, many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 9 at   ST. JOHN  the BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH  209 South Street where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of Mass. Msgr.James Gunn will officiate.  Private burial will be held in the Campbellsport cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Waunakee Manor or the Waunakee Food Pantry.  Estelle's family extends a special thank you to Waunakee Manor for their compassionate and loving care.
