Esther P. Wille

DEERFIELD / MADISON- Esther P. Wille, age 95, a lifelong Dane Co. resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in Madison. Esther was born on July 25, 1915, in Middleton, WI. to the  late William & Williamina (nee Scheele) Pollow. Esther married the late Herman P. Wille, Jr. on August 16, 1933, at St. Luke's in Middleton. Esther and Herman farmed in the Black Earth area before moving to Deerfield and later to Madison area raising their three children. Esther was very proud to be named the first women to hold the title of National Food Coordinator for the Canteen Corporation, which set up food services in all the major airports, later retiring after 25 yrs. with the company. Esther was a longtime member of Deerfield Lutheran Church and much like her husband Herman, loved talking and dealing with people. Esther was active in many of the activities that she enjoyed at the Sunny Hill Health Care. Survivors include; her daughter, Fern Prosa, of Deerfield; her twin sons, Peter (Sandra) Wille and Paul (Vera) Wille, both of Fitchburg; her sister, Betty ( Phillip) Zibell of Cambridge; her six grandchildren, Tim, Mark, Scott, Prentice, Cassie and Erica; her 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Herman in 2007; by two brothers and three sisters and by her son-in-law Lowell Prosa in 1999. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield, with the Rev. Larry Sexe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Madison. Friends of the family may call on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 from 3-6 p.m. at the church in Deerfield.
