Evan C. Kahl

Evan Christopher Kahl, age 22, of Sun Prairie, passed away after a short illness on Sunday September 17, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Evan was born on October 30, 2000 to Allen & Jane Kahl, in Madison, Wisconsin. Evan graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 2019. Evan loved skateboarding, traveling, music, history, reading, going on walks, video games, watching MMA and movies, working on computers, creating new recipes in the kitchen, the family cats and dogs, and spending time with family and friends. At the time of his death, he was working as a cook.

Evan is survived by his parents Allen Kahl and Jane Kahl (Deb), brothers Kyle, Ryan, and Logan, sisters Katie and Elaina, nephew Odin, grandparents Bill Kahl, Sr., Kathleen Kahl, Ken & Barb Kunda, and many more loving aunts, uncles, and other family members, his cat Ronald and girlfriend Idaliah.

Evan was preceded in death by his sister Abigail Kahl, and his Grandma Kitty and his Nana.

Evan was working hard to overcome his medical and other challenges, and his family was proud of his progress.

Evan’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.

Evan’s family would like to thank the St. Mary’s Medical ICU, in particular Dr. Sharma, and nurses Audrey, Caroline, and the Nicoles.

Evan, you may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our hearts. 

Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.  Evan will be brought to his final place of rest at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Sun Prairie.
