Evelyn Norine Blaser

December 23, 1919 — December 15, 2008

Madison--Evelyn Norine Blaser, age 88, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008. She was born December 23, 1919, the daughter of the late John P. and Sylvia E. (Schmid) Stuessy. Evelyn was born and raised in New Glarus and graduated from New Glarus High School. On January 23, 1940, she was united in marriage to Albert C. Blaser in New Glarus. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1988. Together they lived in New Glarus, and then moved to Belleville for twelve years until 1967 when they became residents of Madison. Evelyn was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Madison. She enjoyed gardening and family involvement.   Survivors include: daughters, Sonja (Don) Fjelstad of Madison, and Annette (John) Nast of Palm Bay, FL.; granddaughter, Stephanie (Jeff Nickels) Schutz of Waunakee; grandsons: Dane Fjelstad of Madison, Eric Fjelstad of Milwaukee, Wayne Nast of Palm Bay, FL, and Jason Nast of Palm Bay, FL; four great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Mary) Stuessy of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Mildred Stuessy of Monroe and Hedwig Hankel of New Glarus; brother-in-law, Herbert (Lou Ann) Blaser of Belleville; and many nieces and nephews. ""You will be forever in our hearts.""   She was preceded in death by her husband, and brother, Kenneth Stuessy.   Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison, with Pastor Bernt Tweit officiating. Friends may call at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., on Thursday, December 18, 2008, from 5 pm until 7 pm and on Friday at church from 12:30 pm until the time of service. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona.   The family extends a special thank you to the staff and caregivers of Oak Park Place Rehabilitation   and Assisted Living for their wonderful care and support.
