Evelyn C. ""Maggie"" Brown

February 23, 1928 — April 6, 2009

Stoughton- Evelyn C. Maggie' Brown passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 6, 2009 with her family by her side.   She was born in Stoughton on February 23, 1928 to Andrew and Brita Weum.   She married the love of her life Charles W. Brown on August 17, 1948.   She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan (Dean) Deterding of Lindale, Georgia, Mary (Brian) Trujillo of Edgerton, and Brenda (David) Swenson of Stoughton.   She is further survived by her grandchildren Todd (Stephanie) Deterding of O'Fallon, Missouri, Steve Deterding of Stoughton, Gregor Swenson of Brooklyn; and her great-great grandchildren Allison, Natalie and Charlie Deterding and Natalie Swenson.   Evelyn's passions were raising her children, her Norwegian heritage, traveling, bowling, painting, Norwegian Rosemaling, gambling, garage sales, and the times she spent with her grand dogs Tawny, Roxy and grand cat Shadow.   Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charlie, three siblings Anna Tommerson, Olin Weum and Alice Heath.   Special thanks to Lori, Erin, Carmen, Steve and Erin of Hospice Care, Barb Peters, Gary Vogel, Olga Aaberg, Pastor Mark Petersen and Pastor Karen Kiener.   A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, WI at 11:00 am.   There will be a time of sharing and remembrance at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Ave., Stoughton, WI on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again on Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 10:00 am until the time of the service.   In lieu of flowers, Evelyn requested memorials be made to HospiceCare, Inc., Covenant Lutheran Church or the Dane County Humane Society.   Maggie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
