Evelyn Hellenbrand

WAUNAKEE-After a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, Evelyn C. "Evie" Hellenbrand, age 87, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at the Ridges in Lodi Wisconsin. She was born in Martinsville on Oct 25, 1928 to Weinand and Christine (Rauls) Statz. She married Donald Hellenbrand at St Martins on May 23, 1950. They lived, raised their four sons and farmed together in the Martinsville area. Evie's passions in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Evie loved to travel, was great at baking, quilting, and crafting. She had an exceptional green thumb and loved her flower gardens. She was a lifelong member of St Martins Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women and arranged the flowers at church for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Don; four sons, William (Evelyn), Stan (Mary), Neil (Gina) Ivan (Beth); nine grandchildren, Tina, Matt, Nicki, Katie, Brent, Staci, Alex, Tyler, Adam; six great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Jean Statz. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Genevieve (Chris); and two brothers, Robert (Rosemary) and Roman.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St Martins Catholic Church, 5959 St Martins Circle, Martinsville. Rev. Tait Schroeder will officiate. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Ridges for the care provided to Evelyn the past three plus years.
