Evelyn “Evie” M. Fleming passed away at Homestead Living, Waunakee, WI, on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022. Evelyn was born in Dane, Wisconsin, on May 30th, 1929, daughter of the late John and Theresa (Fell) Keller.
Evelyn graduated from Waunakee High School, class of 1947, and was a lifelong resident of the Waunakee community. Evie married Russell Fleming on July 2nd, 1955. She was the classic housewife, raising four children. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Evelyn enjoyed spending weekends with the family at their cottage on Buffalo Lake in Montello, playing cards, and relaxing. She spent all her time with the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, Russell. Russ preceded her in death a month earlier.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rhonda; sons, Larry (Beth) Fleming, Jim (Michelle) Fleming, and Tim (Tammy Neises) Fleming; grandchildren, Randy and Ryan Reis, Scott, Dan, Kaitlyn, and Jack Fleming; sister, Shirley Panas; and brother, Donny (Nancy) Keller. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; brothers, Bob (Chris) Keller and Jack (Judy) Keller; brothers-in-law, Glenn (Doris) Gallup), Tom (Dottie) Fleming, Nick (Shirley) Panas; and brother-and-sister-in-law, Harry and Marge Beier.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church for Evelyn and Russell with Monsignor Gunn officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery following the funeral mass.
The family would like to thank the staff at Homestead Living and Agrace for the loving care they gave Evie and Russ.
