Evon 'Eddie' Keller

March 10, 1919 — August 20, 2010

Evon (Eddie) Keller, age 91 of Deerfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday Aug 20, 2010.   Evon was born on March 10, 1919 in Spring Green, WI to the late Clinton & Mabel Keller.   He married Hazel Storlie on September 14, 1941 at St Paul Liberty Lutheran Church in Deerfield.   He was a member of Teamster Union Local 695 and retired from Motor Transport in 1975.   Evon had a love for music and managed the Ole Gjerald Band for 26 years.   He was a self taught banjo player who entertained audiences his whole life.   Evon took great pleasure in working on small engines for friends and neighbors.   He was known for his quick wit and he was always up for a good joke.   Evon is survived by his wife of 68 years, his children, Judy Packard of Cheyenne Wells, CO, James (Mary) Rockdale Steven (Pam) Deerfield, Donald (Melissa) Sun Prairie and Wayne (Lisa) Deerfield sister, Delores ""Dolly"" Wallin of Janesville.   He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Peggy Packard, Lynda Whittle, Mark Packard, Dee Kirby, Daniel Keller, Timothy Keller, Jacob Keller; 4 great grandchildren Kyle Kuska, Cassandra & Robert Whittle, Elizabeth Keller, an expected great great granddaughter in September; and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Laverne and Pete.   Funeral Services will be held on Tues. Aug 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church, 3494 Oak Park Road, Deerfield, with Pastor Dan Anderson officiating.   Burial will follow at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Cemetery.   A visitation will take place at Olson Holzhuter Cress funeral home on Mon Aug 23, 2010 from 4pm-7pm, and again at church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   The family would like to thank Hospice Care Inc., and its staff for their considerate & Compassionate Care.   Evon was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
