MIDDLETON - Florence Ruth Lord passed away on April 10, 2015, from Alzheimer's. She was born on July 23, 1934, in Madison, Wisconsin. Her father was a civil engineer and Dane County Highway Commissioner, her mother was a nurse. Her father and brother served in the Navy, veterans of World War I and II and her other brother served in the Korean War. Ruth graduated from Madison East High School as Valedictorian in 1952. She married and had four children. She was employed as a cytotechnologist. Ruth met the challenge of rheumatoid arthritis as a young parent and hoped one day for a cure.
Ruth's faith in the Lord came later in life, becoming strong and dear to her. She loved helping ministry partners in outreach to those in need. She assisted in supporting a Romanian orphanage and a children's international relief organization. She was supportive of local ministries in the area. She was always ready with an offer of prayer or support when asked upon.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Henry Jaquish (Kate), and Richard Jaquish (Alwilda). Survivors include her cousin Joyce Taylor; her children, Kathleen Lord Witucki (Rick), Timothy Lord (Annette), Jennifer Lord, and Rodney Lord (Lisa); along with her grandchildren, Christine, Tatiana, Jonathan and Nathan; her great grandchildren, Tala, Mikaela and Nemi. She is also survived by her nephews and niece, Hans Jaquish, Thor Jaquish and Christina Jaquish Egstad (Greg) and great niece and nephew, Jeffrey and Natalie.
