Fay M DeMicco

January 30, 1913 — September 22, 2008

DE MICCO, FAY M.

Stoughton - Fay M. De Micco, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, at the Stoughton Hospital. She was born in the Bronx, New York on January 30, 1913 to Joseph and Elisabeth (Mendillo) DeMicco, the third of seven children. Fay worked at the Henry Hudson Hotel in New York for 12 years and at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, New York, for 33 years, as their Chief Telephone Operator. She moved to Stoughton in 1990, with her dear sister and brother-in-law, Joan and George Wilshusen, to be near her only niece, Joan Wilcox. Known as ""Auntie"" Fay to all that knew and loved her, she had a famous gift of gab and kept us enthralled with her stories of the celebrities and politicians she encountered during ""the Hotel Years"". Her entire life was devoted to her family and she was a tireless caregiver. Her deep faith, and strong determination and will, sustained her and gave the rest of us courage and a perfect role model. Her best friend was her niece, Joni, and together they discovered the joys of New York and Wisconsin. Fay had a great sense of humor, a voracious thirst for knowledge, loved anything Italian and enjoyed trips ""up North"" immensely. She absolutely adored her niece and ""nephew"", Joni and Jim, great nephews, Tony and Andrew, their dear wives, ""the Lisa's"" and her six great, great nephews and nieces. ""They are my heart""; she would say and was so thankful to be able to get to know each of her little angels. Her parents, her six siblings, and her brother-in-law, preceded Fay in death. She is survived by her niece, Joan (James) Wilcox, nephews Anthony (Lisa Marie), Andrew (Lisa Renee) and their children, Noah, Zachary, Elliot, Connor, Katelyn and Paige. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at St. Ann Church, 323 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating. Friends may greet the family at the Church from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Church, Stoughton, or the Nazareth House. Auntie, we love you more!
