Filmore George Weber

Madison - Filmore George Weber, born May 5, 1924, Manhattan, New York, died November 7, 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin.

A veteran of the Second World War, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1945, on active duty in the South Pacific.

Fil as he was known to his friends and business associates spent 60 years in the jewelry industry starting on 47th Street in 1950. In 1968 he opened George Fillmore Goldsmith and Jewelers in Canton, Connecticut and ran the business till 2008, (in proud partnership with his daughter Raimie since 1982). He was well known through the industry for his humor, honesty, precision craftsmanship and his unique creative jewelry design.

The family wishes to thank Doctor Adam Rindfleisch and his staff and the Palliative Care Unit of the University of Wisconsin Hospital for their compassionate care.

Remembered by wife of 62 years, Claire (nee Schiffman); brother, Ira; children, Candace, Raimie, Laurance, Marshall; daughter-in-laws Chelsea and Denise; grandchildren Samuel and Isabelle; great-granddaughter, MaKenna; brother-in-law William; sister-in-law Barbara; and many nephews, nieces and dear friends.
