Florence Allen

MCFARLAND - Florence Carol Allen, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tue Feb 27, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on July 2, 1927 in Madison to the late Henry and Leonida (Schedel) Marks. Florence married her high school sweetheart, Merlin "Mike" Allen on May 15, 1949 at Hope Lutheran Church in McFarland. She worked as a beautician for many years, and volunteered at church with the quilt group. Spending time with her family and cooking for them was what she loved the most in life.
Florence is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Berger and Mark (Janet) Allen; 4 grandchildren Matthew (Elaine) Berger, Paul Berger, Kristin (Aaron) Miller and Kerry Allen; 4 great grandsons William and Michael Berger, and Caleb and Nicholas Miller; sister-in-law Doris Marks; and she is further survived by nieces and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merlin "Mike" Allen, twin brother Floyd Marks, sister Olga Krantz, and brother Clarence Marks.
Memorials are suggested to McFarland Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Sat March 3, 2018 at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd. McFarland, with Rev. Kelli Schmit presiding. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service at the church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow the luncheon at Hope Lutheran Cottage Grove Cemetery.
