Florence Hughes

Florence Elizabeth Hughes, age 91, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020. She was born in Madison on June 16th, 1928 to Charles and Leona (Heick) Burmeister. She married John Hughes on February 14, 1948, together they had four children.

Florence always had her hands busy. She had several hobbies including crocheting, knitting, sewing, quilting and putting together jig saw puzzles. Florence was always looking for a new recipe and loved watching cooking shows. Florence also enjoyed collecting elephants and most recently enjoyed coloring in her adult coloring books.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Terry) Wenger, her sons Richard (Peggy) Hughes and Charles Hughes, nine grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (John Hughes), daughter (Jackie Hughes) and grandsons (Jason Hughes and Jesse Wenger).

A private service and burial will be held for close family at Forest Hill Cemetery. A special thank you to Florence's granddaughter, Shannon Hughes for caring for her.
