Florence Rita Kraus

Sun Prairie--Florence R. Kraus, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Belmont Nursing Home.   Florence was born on December 4, 1927 in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Anthony & Rita (Gauer) Goldade.  She was united in marriage with Herman Kraus in 1950 in Aberdeen, SD.  Together they raised 2 sons.  Florence worked as an inspector at Goodyear for many years.  Before that, she worked as an LPN at St. Mary's Hospital.  Florence also participated in the family business, Kraus Real Estate and Builders.  Florence enjoyed traveling and remembered most fondly her trip to Rome.  She enjoyed crocheting while the boys were young and also cooking German dishes for her family. She is survived by her sons, Herman (Chris) Kraus and Robert (Jane) Kraus all of Sun Prairie; grandchildren Mandy and Joellen; great-grandchildren Kaden, Colton and Kenzie; sisters Bernice Lindgren, Sun Prairie, Mary Ann (Robert) Rodgers, Sun Prairie, and Eleanor Markewitz, Rapid City, SD; brothers Eugene (Lena) Goldade, Cottage Grove and Brother Sebastian, Blue Cloud Abbey, SD; other relatives and friends.  Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1985; sister Helen; brothers Donny, Anthony, Richard, Robert, Steven and Jimmy.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie with Father Brian Dulli presiding.  Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the WI Chronic Fatigue Association.   Cress Funeral & Cremation Service 1310 Emerald Terrace Sun Prairie (608) 837-9054
