Florence Brandt McConnell

McFarland- Florence Brandt McConnell, age 93, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton.  She was born in Dane County on April 2, 1917 the daughter of Oscar and Jane (Knouse) Harrison.  Florence married Willie Brandt in 1935.  Along with her sister, Genevieve and brother-in-law, Glen Brandt, they owned and operated the Edwards Park Store and Dancehall.  Florence was a cook at Sunnyside and sold AVON for many years.  Following the death of Willie in 1953, she married Jim McConnell Sr. in 1954.  Florence is survived by five daughters, Faye Brandt Polivka, Barbara (Bill) McDermott, Linda Anderberg, Jane (Duane) Schmidt and Mary ( Lynn) Randall; son, Jim McConnell; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim, in 1958; son-in-law, Fred Anderberg; sister, Genevieve (Glen) Brandt; sister-in-law, Mildred Bowman; and brothers-in-law, Edwin McConnell and Marlow Geiger.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at McFarland Lutheran Church, 5529 Marsh Road, with Rev. Jerome Pribbenow officiating.  Burial will follow in Upper McFarland Cemetery.  Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at church immediately following the burial.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services.  A special thank you to the staffs of Skaalen Home and HospiceCare Inc.
