MADISON - It is with great sorrow we report the passing of Florence Protetch Rosner on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the age of 90.
Florence, born to Jacob and Clara Glass Protetch in Youngstown, Ohio lived in Madison for the last 25 years where she worked for the State of Wisconsin Bureau of Aging. At age 72, she received Dane County's Older Worker of the Year Award and was quoted saying that the "secret to staying young is forgetting that you're old. I didn't realize I was old until I won the Older Worker award. They should change the name of it to 'younger worker in the 70- to 80- year-old category '."
Florence is survived by her daughter, Joyce Rosner, her brother, Max Protetch, and her two grandchildren, David and Zef. She was, unfortunately, preceded in death by her older daughter, Carolyn.
Throughout her life, Florence focused on helping others and she will be missed greatly by many.
The family requests that any donations in Florence's memory be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
