Frances Hornung

Madison--Frances ""Minnie"" Hornung, age 85 passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born August 10, 1923 the daughter of the late Jacob and Elsie (Smith) Smith. She married Howard R. Hornung whom preceded her in death in 1978.   Frances is survived by her children: Marie (John) Bates of California, Pat Neal of Madison, Howie Hornung of Madison, David (Melissa) Hornung of Verona, Tammy (Bill) Risler of Greenbush; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Joan Steffen of Florida and Joyce Haynes of Newfoundland, Canada; a sister-in-law, Emily Smith of Newfoundland, Canada, and special friend, Kathy Copus of Madison.   She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Ralph and Johnny Smith.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Avenue, Madison. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 until 6 pm at the funeral home, and also on Monday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
