Frances Mary Kahl

  Sun Prairie/CambridgeFrances M. Kahl, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at London Lodge.  Frances was born on March 16, 1925 in WI, the daughter of Matthias and Christine (Marking) Meier.  She was united in marriage with Oliver Kahl on April 11, 1945 in Madison and together they raised two daughters.   Frances lived in various cities including DeForest, Black Earth, Cross Plains, Mazomanie, Waterloo and Sun Prairie.   She was employed at Goodyear for many years and also was a waitress at various night clubs.  Many of her enjoyments were dancing, playing cards, traveling and at one time, playing the accordion.  Frances is survived by her daughters Sandra Skalitzky of Waterloo and Peggy (Dan) Pickhardt of Sun Prairie; grandchildren Peter Skalitzky, Waterloo, Sheri (Mark) Schmidt, Oshkosh, Sue (Casey) Mietzel, Sun Prairie and Tristin Kahl, Sun Prairie; great-grandson Owen James Mietzel ; great-granddaughter Sierra Kay Mietzel; sister Anne (Eddie) Acker, Waunakee; brothers Wilfred (Jo) Meier, Middleton, Phil (Elaine) Meier, Belleville, Dan (Charlene) Meier, Cross Plains, Richard (Billie) Meier, Waunakee, and Val Meier, St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law Mary Meier, Oregon; other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1998; sister Cil Brabender and a sister at birth; brother James Meier; and son-in-law James Skalitzky. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, 232 Windsor St., Sun Prairie, with Rev. Luke Were officiating.  Burial will be held at Oakhill Cemetery, Black Earth.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2-5:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials would be appreciated to go to the family to be used for various charities.  Frances will also be remembered with joy by her second family of caregivers and fellow residents at London Lodge owned by Meg and Alexander Torrez.
