Frank L. Anderson, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Harmony Living in Stoughton. Â He was born in Boscobel on November 29, 1924, a son of Henry and Fannie (Schofield) Anderson. Â He was united in marriage to Marian Linderud on July 3, 1949 at Stoughton United Methodist Church. Â Frank graduated from Stoughton High School in 1943, where he participated in football, track and speed skating. Â Immediately after graduation, he entered the US Navy, training at the Naval Electronics Schools at Purdue University, and serving on the Destroyer, USS Bradford (DD545) in the South Pacific. Â He was discharged in 1946 and attended the UW Madison, receiving a BS degree in Soil Science. Â Frank went on to work for the Us Department of Agriculture as a soil scientist, retiring in 1989. Â He enjoyed gardening, pheasant and duck hunting, tennis, fishing and collecting Native American stone tools and artifacts. Â Frank is survived by 3 children, Linda Anderson, Charles Anderson, and Margaret (Ron) Hetzler, 2 sisters, Ruth Leef and Marion Ainsworth; and many nieces and nephews. Â He was preceded in death by his wife Marian in March of 2009; and by a sister, Audrey. Â Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at noon at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Lamarr V. Gibson officiating. Â Burial and Military rites will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton. Â The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until noon. Â Following the committal, a luncheon will be held at the Vennevoll Clubhouse in Stoughton. Â Special thanks to the staff at Harmony Living.
