Frank L. Anderson

Frank L. Anderson, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Harmony Living in Stoughton.   He was born in Boscobel on November 29, 1924, a son of Henry and Fannie (Schofield) Anderson.   He was united in marriage to Marian Linderud on July 3, 1949 at Stoughton United Methodist Church.   Frank graduated from Stoughton High School in 1943, where he participated in football, track and speed skating.   Immediately after graduation, he entered the US Navy, training at the Naval Electronics Schools at Purdue University, and serving on the Destroyer, USS Bradford (DD545) in the South Pacific.   He was discharged in 1946 and attended the UW Madison, receiving a BS degree in Soil Science.   Frank went on to work for the Us Department of Agriculture as a soil scientist, retiring in 1989.   He enjoyed gardening, pheasant and duck hunting, tennis, fishing and collecting Native American stone tools and artifacts.   Frank is survived by 3 children, Linda Anderson, Charles Anderson, and Margaret (Ron) Hetzler, 2 sisters, Ruth Leef and Marion Ainsworth; and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his wife Marian in March of 2009; and by a sister, Audrey.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at noon at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Lamarr V. Gibson officiating.   Burial and Military rites will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until noon.   Following the committal, a luncheon will be held at the Vennevoll Clubhouse in Stoughton.   Special thanks to the staff at Harmony Living.
