Frank M. Barg, 65, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2011, surrounded by his wife and family.
Born June 21, 1946, in Rhinelander, Frank was the son of Frank Barg, Sr. and Mary Jane Barg (Ward). Frank graduated from Pulaski High School, Milwaukee, in 1965. From 1965 to 1972, Frank served in the U.S. Air Force in Thailand and the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Frank graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Washington-Seattle and worked for the City of Madison from 1982 to 1989. He enjoyed the arts, literature, music, and travelling; his creativity was evident in his avid painting. Frank touched many lives and helped many people. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, love of family, wonderful sense of humor, and love of life. Frank showed unsurpassed strength and dignity throughout the constant challenges of Multiple Sclerosis.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanie K. Barg (Wesenberg); son, Sgt. Matthew Barg; grandson, Kyle; stepson, Robert Hermanson II, Boulder, CO; mother, Mary Jane Barg, Milwaukee; nine younger siblings: George Barg, Joseph Barg (Karlene), Charles Barg (Christine), Patricia Corbeil (Bruce), Milwaukee; Christine Kania (Neal), Woodruff; Margaret Miller (Henry), Franklin; Rebecca Stankiewicz (Daniel), Midwest City, OK; Mary Kingstad (Jack), Arena; and Kathleen LaPerriere (Paul), Oak Creek; his dogs, Lily and Binti; his dear nieces: Christina Morley (Eric), Milwaukee; Shelly Martin (Tom), Verona; Julie Wesenberg, New York; Lindsay Crook, Cross Plains; his faithful friends, Glen Rosen, Mount Horeb; Peggy and Ken Bremmer, Madison; and many other family members and close friends.
His father, Frank M. Barg, Sr., precedes him in death.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 1 p.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Second Harvest Food Bank.
