Madison -- Frank A. Dignan, born January 17, 1926, passed away July 7, 2010. Preceded by parents, Aubrey and Myra (Warner) Dignan, formerly of Wautoma, WI. Survived by loving wife and best friend of 62 years, Doris (Lovdahl) Dignan; children, Mary (Steve) Hustad of Eden Prairie, MN, and John (Peggy) Dignan of Worthington, OH; grandchildren, Jason, Dana, Jaclyn, Elizabeth and Tim, and many other relatives and friends. As a teenager, Frank played drums with Larry Woodbury's band. He had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed a dry martini. He traveled to six continents, especially favoring the more remote areas. Frank graduated with a BS and MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, served in the US Navy, and enjoyed a 41 year career as an analyst at Oscar Mayer & Co. Memorial service will be held Monday, July 12 at 11:00, with visitation at 10:00 and lunch immediately following the service, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison. Frank was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will be truly missed. Memorials may be made in Frank's honor to Bethany Methodist Church or the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
