Madison – Franklin C. Zuerner, age 50 of Madison passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 17th, 2021. Ultimately ending his long battle with mental health challenges and alcoholism. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and finally free from all his struggles.
Frank graduated from James Madison Memorial high school in 1988. He graduated from UW Madison in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He went on from there to earn a Bachelor of Social Studies Education from Saint Cloud State University with the hopes and dreams of continuing to follow his father’s steps in education. Over his career he was a teacher at Serenity High School in McKinney, TX, Richland Center High School, and a long-time substitute teacher with the Madison Metropolitan School District. Frank also had a passion for athletics as a coach for football and wrestling. He loved working with kids in all aspects of his life and was respected by family, friends, and students. He had the biggest heart, was a gentle giant and touched so many lives.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Zuerner; sister, Lisa (Todd) Kaull; nephews, Nathan and Timothy Kaull; his aunt; uncle; cousins; and special friends, Jim and Linda Kotoski.
He was preceded in death by his father; Frank A Zuerner; an uncle; two aunts; and both sets of grandparents.

A casual Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 27 at Cress Funeral and Cremation Service, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, from 1-3pm.
