Cross Plains, WI / Diablo, CA -- Frederick ""Fred"" C. Dillett, age 56, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 with his family by his side at the HospiceCare Facility. Â He was born on December 28, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Charles F. and Beverly Y. (Bastian) Dillett. Â Fred graduated from Shawano High School and went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he met the love of his life, Ann Donkle. Â In 1977, Fred graduated from college with a bachelor of science in journalism. Â He followed Ann out to California and worked in sales. Â On June 23, 1979, Fred was united in marriage to Ann Donkle in Reno, Nevada. Â In 1982, Fred started his own communication company, ""Telcom"" and ran that business for 25 years. Â He then became a land developer in several cities in California including: Livermore, Antioch and Petaluma. For 12 years, Fred fished on his boat ""Amigo"" in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico fishing for large salt water fish. Fred and Ann lived in Danville and Diablo for 30 years and recently moved to Cross Plains in January of 2007. Â In his spare time Fred enjoyed yachting, deep sea salt water fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling, computers and spending time on the internet. Â Fred also loved time spent with family, friends and his Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever dogs. He is survived by his wife of 30 years; Ann Dillett of Cross Plains, WI, his mother; Beverly Schillinger of Dixon, CA, a brother; Charles Dillett of Walnut Creek, CA, two sisters; Louise (Rob) Quick of Arlington, TX, and Heidi (George) Palchik of Dixon, CA, aunt; Priscilla Jacobs of Madison, WI, four nieces; Jennifer Land of Euless, TX, Hannah Palchik of Dixon, CA, Maegen Henze of Hartland, WI and Erin Henze of ""The Grove"", and three nephews; Samuel Palchik of Dixon, CA, Shawn Henze of Tokyo, Japan and Jed Henze of Hartland, WI. Â Fred is also survived by other relatives and friends. Â He was preceded in death by his father, Aunt Florence Dillett of Shawano, WI, Uncle Raymond Bastian of Milwaukee, WI and his step father Herbert Schillinger of Milwaukee, WI. Â A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, WI on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Thomas L. Kelley officiating. Â A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Â Memorials may be made in Fred's name to HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 E. Â The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amit Sanyal and his staff at Dean Medical Hematology and Oncology Department and to the staff with home Hospice and the HospiceCare Facility for all their outstanding care and support given to Fred and our family during his illness. We loved our ""Freddy Bear"" and he lived large in every way.
