Frederick Jensen

Sun Prairie - Frederick J. Jensen, age 63, entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, August 1, 2013. He was born on November 11, 1949 in Madison, the son of Lloyd and Helen (Jelinek) Jensen. Fred was a lifelong Sun Prairie resident. He was united in marriage to his best friend and love of his life, Jacqueline Larson, on May 17, 1986. Fred was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, godfather and foster father. A few years ago, Fred stated if he were to write a book about how he wanted his life to be, he said, "I am already living it." Fred's passion for children showed in many ways, from being a father who was always there for his boys, being a foster parent, volunteer baseball and basketball coach, and in his retirement years he drove school bus for Kobussen where he developed a rapport with even the most difficult children. Fred served on the board of directors for the Sun Prairie Little League, Madison Patriots Hockey Association and Head Start. He also volunteered many hours at the YMCA. Fred enjoyed working on outdoor projects and frequenting thrift stores.

Fred is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jackie Jensen; five sons, Jason (Christine) Jensen, Tony (John Lehmann) Jensen, Ethan Jensen, Evan Jensen, and Michael Jensen; four grandchildren, Morgan, Taylor, DC, and Kylee; special Goddaughter, Rosie White; two sisters, Elaine Jensen and Lisa (Brett) Lanphier and a brother, Curt (Sandi) Jensen. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his long-time companion, Ayla.

Memorial services will be held at NEW LIFE CHURCH, 7564 Cottage Grove Road, Madison on Wednesday, August 14 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rob Carlson officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, August 13 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
