G. Edward Gaskill

Glenn ""Ed"" Gaskill, age 62, died on Monday, October 20, 2008 in Madison of complications from heart surgery.  Ed was born on March 22, 1946 in Quincy, Illinois.  He grew up in Madison; attended West High School and played football earning all-city honors.  Ed attended the University of Wisconsin, played football and became active in national politics, after college he continued his interest in politics and was part of championship teams with the original Madison Mustangs and was named an all star.  Ed's faith in God defined who he was.  He was involved in several new church starts and his compassion for others was always evident.  Ed was successful as a real estate broker, then in telecommunications, and most recently in heath insurance.  He was a loving husband and father who was always helpful, whether it was with homework, or always being available.  Ed is survived by his loving wife, Diane; two children, Tiffany and Glenn; his mother, Charlotte (Walt); sister, Chris (Brian) and his nephews, Keith and Jeff.  He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn; brother, Greg; and his grandparents.  A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, Madison from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, Madison at 9:30AM.  A burial will immediately follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison.
