Gary Rixel

Pardeeville - Gary M. Van Rixel, beloved husband, father, and friend, age 52, died unexpectedly due to a cardiac event on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at his home in Pardeeville. He was born in Menominee Falls, on June 3, 1959 to William and Veronica (Wypiszynski) Van Rixel. Gary was always a kid at heart and had a great gift for bringing out the kid in everyone he knew and loved. He will be remembered for his quick wit, bright smile and warmth of character. Gary was a fanatical Badger and Packer fan and was the life of every tailgate. He always enjoyed the outdoors and took every opportunity to spend time on his boat or on the golf course.

Gary is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan; sons, Matthew Van Rixel of Madison, Spencer Kronz of Milwaukee and Bradley Kronz of Brooklyn, NY; brother, William Van Rixel of Sheboygan; sisters-in-law, Ann Manley (Joel Hammermeister) of Portage and Jo (Bill) Christianson of Baraboo; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Golden Retriever Casey.

A memorial service will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Rd., Madison, on Monday, August 15, 2011, at 12:00 noon with Pastor Rodney Hank officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
