Sun Prairie-Geneva L. Gray, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Oakwood Village East, Madison. She was born on December 27, 1926 in Portage the daughter of Leonard & Lillian (Kiefer) Simonson. Geneva was united in marriage with Avold "Stub" Gray on June 6, 1947 in the Township of Lewiston. In her lifelong time the most important thing was family. From growing up in the Portage area with aunts, uncles, cousins and to raising her own family, nothing was ever as important as being a family. She was a kind and giving person who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Among the jobs she held were working at the Weyenberg Shoe Factory, Portage and Bavaria Sausage Kitchen, Verona. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Ronda), Terry (Helen) and Shelly (Dan) Smith, all of Sun Prairie; her grandchildren, Chad (Laura), Heather, Ryan (Andrea), Tyler (Jenny Farenholtz), Brittany and Christopher; her great-grandchildren, Reagan, Avery, Mary, Jameson, Ethan, Colby, Macy and Collin; her sisters, Dorothy Haynes, Portage and Saffia Page, Ripon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband on December 10, 1995, her parents, sister, Alice and brothers, Orrin & Delbert "Bud". Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr., Sun Prairie with Rev. Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie and at the church on Thursday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service. Burial will be in Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Memorials would be appreciated to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
