Geneva E. G. Halvorson

Geneva E. G. Halvorson, age 93 of McFarland, WI, passed away Thursday, the 9th of June, 2011, in her son's home in South Bend, Indiana. She was born Geneva Elizabeth Gina Pederson to Christ and Ella Pederson on March 13, 1918, residing in Seminary Springs within Blooming Grove Township. She then met and married Truman B. Halvorson and they settled on a farm in the Edgerton, WI area. In 1948 they purchased their present farm, on Mahoney Road, in the Town of Dunn. She worked the farm with her husband for many years and then worked a few years at Litho Printing in Madison, Wisconsin. Geneva is survived by her three sons. Dale T. Halvorson, wife Marie, sons Scott and Craig, Byron A. Halvorson, wife Ruth, son Christopher, his wife Heather and great grandchildren Audrey and Benjamin, Arlyn R. Halvorson, wife Peggy and children Katie, Dallas, Amanda and Aleta. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband (Truman) in 1987, her brother (Norman Pederson) in 2009. The family will have visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Olson-Cress Funeral Home, 5801 US Highway 51, McFarland, WI, 53558, (Phone 608-838-0655). There will also be visitation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the McFarland Lutheran Church, 5529 Marsh Road, McFarland, WI, 53558, (Phone 608-838-3184) to be followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. and the Grave Side Service at West Koshkonong Cemetery.
