Genevieve Koch

June 24, 1930 — November 13, 2009

 

Dane-Genevieve Koch, age 79, passed away on Friday Nov 13, 2009 at Maplewood Nursing Home of Sauk Prairie. The former Genevieve Eva Statz was born on June 24,1930 to Weinand and Christine (Rauls) Statz. She married Chris Koch in May 1951 and he preceded her in death in October 2007. Genny was a hard-working farm wife who enjoyed, doing field work, feeding calves, gardening and especially cooking and sewing. Even though her health kept her homebound, she maintained a sincere relationship with our Lord. She especially cherished visits from Monsignor Ganshert, and was a lifelong member of St Patrick's/St Michaels Catholic Church cluster of Dane/ Lodi.

Survivors include her son Jerry of Dane; her daughter Ruth (Ray) Kruchten of Roxbury, six grandchildren, Andy (Suellen), Charlie (Jessica), Dennis, Sally, Laurie and Mark Kruchten three great-grandchildren Neal, Calvin and Carter. One sister Evie (Donald) Hellenbrand of Waunakee; and two brothers Bob (Rosemary) Statz of Black Earth and Roman (Jean) Statz of Martinsville, also a sister-in-law Margaret Laufenberg of Waunakee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister-in-laws Julie Ann Dahmen Kopp, Marcie Koch; and brother-in-laws Albert Koch and Ted Laufenberg.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Nov 16, 2009 at 11:00 am at St Michaels Catholic Church in Dane, Rev Francisco Higuera will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday Nov. 15, 2009 from 2:00 TO 4:00 PM at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home in Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
