Stoughton- Genevieve M. Lacy, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. A lifelong resident of the Stoughton / Cooksville area, she was born on October 1, 1922, a daughter of John and Jennie (Dahl) Severson. Genevieve married Lawrence 'Benny' Bailey on September 28, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1966. On October 26, 1968, she married Arthur J. Lacy, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1999. Genevieve was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, a cashier at Eagle Foods in Stoughton for many years, and a long time member of Stoughton Country Club. She had a wonderful green thumb, loved to garden, and was an avid card player. She is survived by 2 daughters, Tenni (Ralph) Annen and Jan (Sevie) Kenyon; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristine) and Joshua (Neanda) Annen, and Tara and Corydon Kenyon; 6 great grandchildren; extended family, Louise Purdy and her son Michael, Barbara Lacy and her sons, Rodney and Peter, Nadine Lacy and her children, Nicole, Andrew and Greg, Robert Lacy; and special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clarice Warne; a nephew, Richard Warne; John Lacy and Michael Lacy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at Skaalen Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton with Msgr. Gerard Healy and Rev. James Koza co-officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton. The family will greet friends at the Skaalen Chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Special thanks to the staff of Forest View unit at Skaalen for their exceptional care, and to HospiceCare, Inc.
